Experience the Waterbender Difference

6 month old Suki (Waterbender KioshiWarrior Suki) getting some cuddles at a winter carnival and completely ignoring the chainsaw demonstration a few metres away.

Jr Handlers & friends playing with the 2017 Litter

This video shows one of our pups at 18 weeks old during his first Subway experience the morning after he was delivered to his new handler.  This is a prime example of a boom-proof puppy.

Tunnels and ball pits filled with noisy, varied textured toys that they have to wade through are excellent (and fun) training tools

Our girl Yue & friend Ava (Mithril Danchell's Ava Maria).
Grooming Tip:  When bathing one poodle, close the door or
all of them jump in too!

Waterbender Poodles

We Raise Standards

We do more than breed top quality Standard Poodles; we Raise them.  Our highly selective breeding program focuses on health, diversity, and temperament.

How we Stand Out from mass producers

1)  Quality, not quantity.  We average two or three litters per year and pour our heart and soul into giving them the best start in life

2)  Our commitment to ensure each pup is extensively socialized.  This makes for highly sociable, confident, and trainable puppies

3) Puppies begin their biosensor program of stimulation from the day they are born

4)  We  do the training and raising of the puppies and do so in our own home (They are never farmed out)

5)  Our puppies have natural due claws and tails for better health and stability

6)  We focus on health, diversity, and temperament (not colour)

7)  We do all we can to make the best possible matches by using tools like the puppy application, interviews, and having the puppy temperament tested

8)  For the right match, we are willing to travel part way when possible (but we're also always pleased to have people over)

9) Basic, age appropriate training.  Older pups are house trained (AKA house broken) and basic trained

10)  Puppies can receive additional training and we have "started"  puppies as Service Dogs In Training (please contact for more information)

What is a Boom-Proof Puppy

We make every effort to produce puppies who are extremely emotionally sturdy and able to cope with anything life might through at them.   Boom-proof puppies will no spook/bolt away from sudden sounds &/or sights.  They are capable of walking calmly and comfortably through large crowds, beside construction zones, and past barking dogs.  They adapt easily to new situations, people, textures, scents, sounds, and sights.

Our puppies learn the sounds and smells of the kitchen and the joys of the back garden.  They are present when we sweep or vacuum and become accustomed to the sights, sounds, and smells of everyday life.  For more information about our training, please visit our SuperPuppy Program page HERE.

By the time our puppies go to their new homes, they are already well-adjusted puppies that have been exposed to toddlers, youth, elders, men, women, car rides, different surfaces, other animals, vacuum cleaners, balloons, umbrellas, smoke alarms, sirens, and so much more!

The puppies are born in my bedroom and are raised in our smoke free, drug free, alcohol free home.  Our dogs live in our home as part of our family.  None of our dogs are in kennel runs.

"The day I was referred to Waterbender Standard Poodles was my great good fortune. I needed a Service dog capable of assisting me with my medical issues. Little did I know that I was about to have a life changing experience!

Kyla Groulx is more than a breeder and trainer of Standard Poodles; she is extraordinary.  Kyla has a passion for training her puppies and spends hundreds of hours putting her heart and soul into each and every one from the moment they are born.

For Kyla, this is a "calling."

The result is a "Super "Standard Poodle. My service poodle Jaden has exceeded any expectations I had, and I am extremely grateful to Kyla for her commitment to Jaden and me.

Kyla truly has a gift."
