Greetings from Camp Waterbender!

Are you ready for adventure?

This summer we had some of our pups come back for visits while their families were on holidays. We were all very excited to see them again and they slipped right back into the poodle pack like they had never left. Years of working at summer camps made it impossible to resist running the daily schedule like a camp.

Nature hikes are fun!

The youngest dogs were dubbed Jr Campers and the older dogs were dubbed Sr Boys and Sr Girls. They had a variety of activities that were given camp-ish titles like nature hikes, wide games, sports, obstacle courses, drama, and spa nights. On rainy evenings we had movie nights with doggy treats and shows they like watching.

The dogs even had weekly Arts & Craft sessions where they made paw print impressions and paintings.

Group walks took on a whole new level and we were often mistaken for a professional dog walker procession. However, all the dogs were still expected to heel and sit at intersections. Admittedly, it was highly satisfying to have a group of dogs and puppies all walking at a polite, calm heel when oncoming walkers could not control their one dog.

During the dog's stay, each family would receive and regular updates and pictures. At the end of each dog's stay, the dog went home with his/her crafts and a little newsletter. It was a thoroughly enjoyable summer and I hope to see them all again soon.
